I am drawn to the joy of work. For me, it is found in building objects that may last four or five generations or more. I find stools and chairs in particular to be the most intimate and personal objects found in our homes. It seems everyone has a favorite chair, even better if it was first coveted by a great-grandmother or grandfather.

My chairs are inspired by traditional Scottish and Welsh design with nuances of my own to give each exhibit its own character and personality. I work with only local, North American hardwoods.

Additional interests include literature and any subject related to nature. I have been fortunate to have authored several short stories and published poetry by Boston Literary Magazine, Eclectica and a host of others. Several have been translated, anthologized and published Internationally. I graduated from Harvard Business School and the University of Liverpool and hold a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting.

My small shop is located on our farm in beautiful, Branchport, New York.
